SMWNYC Event Recap: Pining For Pinterest

New York City was abuzz as Social Media Week 2012 began on February 13.  All the seats were filled as Sociality Squared co-founder and CEO, Helen Todd, presentated “Pining for Pinterest”. New York marketing agency, Definition 6, hosted the event. The presentation received an overwhelmingly positive response, which was highlighted in this BlackBook mention. Pinterest continues to hold our attention as it continues to grow and evolve. Most recently, there are some legal concerns about what is being “pinned”; we will continue to report how the use of Pinterest unfolds for marketers. We are grateful to everyone who attended the presentation, and would like to share it with those of you who could not attend.

In the weeks since SMW, Pinterest has continued its unprecedented growth. In fact, Inside Facebook recently announced that the Pinterest Facebook app has over 11.5 million monthly active users! The presentation touches on the importance of photos in engagement, how Pinterest complements other social networking sites, such as Facebook, demographics of users and how brands can integrate Pinterest into their social media marketing. We’re as curious as you are to see how the platform will continue to evolve. We hope this presentation will be a great start to the ongoing conversation about Pinterest and how brands can use the platform.
